This year’s Game Fair at Ragley Hall was a weekend to remember!
While we weren’t exhibiting directly, we were thrilled to see our ladies’ collection stocked with On The Peg – our first-ever showcase at the UK’s biggest celebration of countryside living, shooting, and heritage.
Alex and Samantha represented Gunner & Hound over the weekend, enjoying every moment of the event while meeting with customers, industry friends, and fellow country lovers.
Our Debut at The Game Fair with On The Peg
Seeing Gunner & Hound products displayed at On The Peg was a real milestone for us. It was a proud moment to watch our Ladies Forest Green Tweed Gilets – our very first ever design – taking centre stage on their stand, alongside our Navy Tweed 1/4 Zip, Baby Pink Houndstooth 1/4 Zip, and our T-shirts (Baby Pink & Pistachio Green).
On The Peg is such an incredible company, working alongside Country Girls UK to promote women in shooting sports, and we couldn’t be more grateful for this opportunity. A huge thank you to Lucy, the owner of On The Peg, for believing in our brand and giving our pieces a platform at such a prestigious event.
The Glamping Experience – A Game Changer!
This year, instead of a hotel, we decided to try out The Game Fair’s Glamping with Green Yurts – and what a decision that was! Arriving Thursday afternoon, we were met by an incredible team who were friendly, helpful, and made sure everything was perfect. The car park was ideally located, and the staff even offered to help carry our luggage to our tent.
The evenings at the glamping site were magical – with DJ entertainment, Hawkstone beer and cider flowing, delicious Pimm’s cocktails, and an on-site restaurant serving incredible food. We even had the chance to chat with the restaurant owner about his passion for food and events – he made us feel so welcome.
We’ll never go back to a hotel – glamping is the way forward for us at The Game Fair!
Friday – The Big Kickoff
Friday at Ragley Hall was buzzing! The weather was scorching, and the crowds were out in full force to celebrate country sport and style. Being Ladies Day with Welligogs, it was amazing to see everyone dressed in their finest – tweed was everywhere, proving that classic heritage style never goes out of fashion.
We stopped by the Melvill & Moon stand – which we proudly sponsored this year by providing them with our Forest Green Gilets embroidered with their logo as staff uniforms. Jake, Steffi, and Laura looked fantastic, and we loved seeing how they presented their unique South African-made products, as well as launching Rogue Ice Coolers UK. Steffi’s passion for promoting authentic, high-quality goods is inspiring – and yes, we might have treated ourselves to something special from their collection!
Saturday – Our Favourite Kind of Busy
Saturday was even busier! We caught up with Lucy from On The Peg – and it turned into an unforgettable afternoon. We chatted for hours, sharing the story of Gunner & Hound and making exciting plans for the future – all while enjoying a few cold drinks together.
The feedback we overheard from customers on the stand was incredible. Our Ladies Forest Green Tweed Gilets were flying off the rails, and hearing people say, “Oh my gosh! It’s Gunner & Hound – I’ve seen them!” was surreal.
The day wrapped up perfectly with our annual tradition – Dirty Duck Fries from Crispy Duck Rotisserie (worth every second of waiting in the queue!) and an evening back at the glamping site enjoying Hawkstone drinks and great conversations with fellow country enthusiasts.
Sunday – A Relaxed Finish
Sunday had a more relaxed vibe, but it was still buzzing with activity. We spent the day exploring – watching the scurries, shooting displays, and fishing demos. A stop at the BASC Food Court was a highlight, where we picked up new game recipes we can’t wait to try when the season starts.
We also sampled plenty of locally crafted ciders, Banhoek Chilli Oil (a must-try!), and enjoyed chatting with traders who pour so much passion into their products. A chance meeting with the Chairman of the Kennel Club led to a great conversation about dogs, shooting, and – of course – our brand.
Final Reflections
This was our fourth year at The Game Fair (third at Ragley Hall), and without a doubt, it was our best experience yet. The layout this year was fantastic, the atmosphere electric, and the glamping made it all the more special.
We’re beyond proud to have had our ladies’ range showcased with On The Peg and to have shared our story with so many wonderful people. We’re leaving Ragley Hall inspired, motivated, and excited for what’s next.
A Huge Thank You
To everyone we met, chatted with, and shared laughs (and drinks!) with – thank you. Special shoutouts to... Lucy (On The Peg), Jake Woolf, Anita North (shooting coach), Kuduriver Gundogs, Steffi (Melville & Moon), Emma from the Scottish Game Fair, and of course, The Game Fair team.
